Peter Lyons is Vice President and General Counsel for Northeast Retirement Services (NRS) and its subsidiary Global Trust Company (GTC). Peter has more than 25 years’ experience serving as senior counsel for major financial services firms. He has been General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of GTC since its inception in 2009. Peter is also Corporate Secretary and General Counsel for the Savings Bank Employee Retirement Association (SBERA), and NRS. He has extensive experience in compliance, risk management, contract review, fiduciary and ERISA matters.

Prior to joining NRS, Peter was General Counsel and Senior Vice President of the Savings Banks Life Insurance Company of Massachusetts. He is a past Executive Committee Member of the Life Insurance Association of Massachusetts (LIAM) and served as Chairman of the LIAM Regulatory Affairs Committee. Peter has also been a Board Member of both the Massachusetts Life and Health Guaranty Association and the Rhode Island Life and Health Guaranty Association.

Mr. Lyons is an honors graduate of Boston College and Suffolk University Law School (J.D.). Peter was selected as one the of the Top 15 General Counsels in the US by “House Counsel Magazine” in 2001.
